During the “Campaña del Desierto”, between 1878 and 1885, many patagonian natives were captured by the National Armed Forces. Entire families were violently taken to the city of Buenos Aires, where family members were separated, and exposed as wild and enslaved people. Most died as they were held in captivity. This piece is based on actual history, and it captures the experience of a woman taken into captivity in 1884, near the lake of Andean Patagonia.
