Licenciada en Ciencias de la Comunicación, con un diplomado en Creación Literaria por la SOGEM en la Ciudad de México y un Máster en Arte Sonoro por la Universidad de Barcelona. En 2007 comienza a producir programas de radio por Internet y trabaja como productora de podcasts y cápsulas para FM. El trabajo radiofónico se empalma con su interés por la literatura e incursiona en la creación de piezas sonoras compuestas con grabaciones de campo y voz. En 2011 gana el segundo lugar en el concurso Paisaje Sonoro del Festival Cervantino, y para la Feria Internacional del Libro 2011 es invitada para clausurar el pabellón de Alemania. En la proximidad laboral con los medios de comunicación masiva e influenciada por el oficio familiar: la impresión, Santana experimenta mediante actos de improvisación con máquinas de Offset y Linotipo, enfocándose así a una investigación etnográfica y sonora que mantiene dos constantes: la presencia de la máquina y la relación entre la acústica del espacio y el cuerpo que lo emite. En Barcelona su trabajo ha sido expuesto en Hangar, Convent Sant Agustí, L’Estruch, CCCB y en México en el Museo de Arte de Zapopan, en el Centro de las Artes de San Luís Potosí y en Impronta Casa Editora. Actualmente es acreedora del Programa de Estímulos a la Creación y al Desarrollo artístico de Jalisco (2015-2016).

Ana Paula Santana is licensed in Communication Sciences, with a diploma in Literary Creation through SOGEM in Mexico City and a Masters in Sound Art through the University of Barcelona.  In 2007, she began to produce radio programs through the internet and she worked as a podcast and news producer for FM.  Her radiophonic work developed with her interest in literature and her incursion in the composition of sound pieces made up of field and voice recordings.   In 2011, she won second place in the competition of Soundscapes of the Cervantino Festival, and for the 2011 International Book Festival, she was invited to close the pavilion of Germany.  Some of her later works that involved mediums of mass communication and influence through the family business include: The Impression, in which Santana experiments with improvisational acts, using the technology of Offset and Linotipo machines.  In this work, she focuses on an ethnographic investigation and a sound that maintains two constants: the presence of the machine and the relation between the space acoustics and the mechanism that emits it.   In Barcelona, her work has been featured in Hangar, the Saint Augustine Convent, L’Estruch, CCCB, and in Mexico in the Museum of Zapopan Art, in the San Luis Potosi Center of the Arts and in Impromptu House Editor.   She is the creator of the Stimulation Program at the Creation and the Artistic Development of Jalisco (2015-2016).
