Descripción conceptual
La presente instalación utiliza la interactividad de manera inversa a lo habitual: en lugar de detectar el movimiento para que éste provoque cambios, la instalación se transforma a través de la presencia inmóvil y continuada de quienes la presencian, de su resistencia pasiva.
De esta manera, invita (incita) a colocarse de forma inmóvil frente a las imágenes proyectadas. A medida que alguien permanece en su posición, su persistencia comenzará a provocar cambios en las imágenes y sonidos (quizá también en la propia persona), en un proceso que se extenderá tanto tiempo como cada persona esté dispuesta a asumir: segundos, minutos, horas…
Si bien la obra puede presentar una poética en sí misma, al mismo tiempo conecta y evoca desde el presente el papel de la resistencia pasiva como catalizadora del cambio social: desde la desobediencia civil de Henry David Thoreau, Gandhi o Rosa Parks hasta manifestaciones más recientes como las “standing protests” de Hong Kong o los “die-ins” del movimiento “Black Lives Matter”.

This installation uses interactivity in a way that is the reverse of the norm: instead of detecting movement to trigger changes, the installation transforms itself through the still and continuous presence of those who witness it, through their passive resistance.
In this way, it invites (incites) viewers to stand motionless before the projected images. As someone remains in their position, their persistence begins to cause changes in the images and sounds (perhaps also in the person themselves), in a process that will last as long as each person is willing to endure: seconds, minutes, hours…
While the work may possess an inherent poetics, it simultaneously connects with and evokes, from the present, the role of passive resistance as a catalyst for social change: from the civil disobedience of Henry David Thoreau, Gandhi, or Rosa Parks to more recent manifestations such as the standing protests in Hong Kong or the die-ins of the Black Lives Matter movement.
