En esta pieza he pretendido emplear la acústica y resonancia del espacio de mi piso como un instrumento más en la composición, mientras se reproducían dispositivos sonoros, creando un paisaje sonoro.

Mi referencia clave fue la pieza “I am Sitting In A Room” de Alvin Lucier, donde las repeticiones de su voz grabada una y otra vez en distintos espacios, creaban disonancias totalmente distintas a la grabación inicial. En mi composición el espacio no variaba, aunque sí el contenido grabado, la forma de reproducción, y amplificación.

Para la composición utilicé material propio pregrabado en cinta: una improvisación de guitarra, y dos grabaciones de campo, durante distintos intervalos de tiempo (Gráfico.1). Empleé tres dictáfonos con posibilidad de velocidad variable para su posterior reproducción. Las grabaciones fueron reproducidas en distintos tipos de altavoces: un mini-amplificador de guitarra, unos altavoces de ordenador, y por el propio altavoz del dictáfono. Los dictáfonos fueron ubicados al final del pasillo de mi casa, justo en un extremo (Ver fotos), posicionándolos en ángulos distintos. En el otro extremo del pasillo, también apoyado en el suelo, utilicé mi grabador estéreo.

In this piece, I have attempted to use the acoustics and resonance of the space of my floor as another instrument in the composition, during which they reproduced random sounds, thus creating a sound scape.
My key reference was the piece “I am Sitting In A Room” by Alvin Lucier, where the repetitions of his voice recorded one and anther time in distinct spaces, creating totally disonances completely distinct from the initial recording.
In my composition, the space does not vary, inspite of the recorded content, the form of reproduction, and the amplification.
or the composition, I used my own pre-recorded material on a tape: an improvisation on guitar, and two field recordings, during distinct intervals of time (see photo 1). I used three dictaphones with the possibility of variable velocity for its posterior reproduction. The recordings were reproduced in distinct types of speakers: a mini-amplifier for the guitar, some computer speakers, and through the dictaphone’s own speaker. The dictaphones were placed at the end of the hallway in my house, just on the other side (see photos), positioning them in distinct angles. On the other side of the hallway, also supported on the ground, I used my stereo recorder.
