Una Casa Propia

En octubre y noviembre de 2024, decenas de miles de personas organizadas asistieron a las manifestaciones convocadas por los Sindicatos de Inquilinas en las diferentes ciudades del estado español bajo el lema «Bajemos los alquileres». La acción colectiva de agitar las llaves se convirtió en un gesto simbólico que articulaba una serie de demandas muy claras: bajar los alquileres, acabar con el rentismo y sacar la vivienda del mercado. El sonido políticamente organizado de las llaves puesto al servicio de la causa social, el paso de lo individual a lo colectivo, el caos y las voces que se fragmentan y se solapan a través de síntesis granular. In October and November 2024, tens of thousands of people attended the protests initiated by the Tenants’ Unions in different cities across Spain under the slogan “Lower the rents.” The collective action of shaking keys became a symbolic gesture that articulated a series of very clear demands: lower rents, end rent-seeking, and take housing off the market. The organized sound of keys not only became symbolic of this social cause, but also symbolic of the shift from the individual to the collective and of the chaos and the voices that fragment and overlap through granular synthesis. Now these sounds are being taken from the protest to the concert hall.
