Pe Lang

Pe Lang construye elegantes esculturas de fuerte carga poética que combinan sistemas mecánicos con dispositivos magnéticos y eléctricos. Las obras resultantes son tan atractivas visualmente, por sus cualidades cinéticas minimalistas, como por sus características acústicas.

Si el azar juega un papel importante en sus obras, el artista logra juguetonamente el equilibrio entre el orden y el caos mediante el control de las fuerzas implicadas en sus composiciones: la precisión de los dispositivos mecánicos y la confusión resultante de la colisión de los distintos elementos.

Ha expuesto y realizado obra para importantes museos, galerías y festivales, entre ellos Transmediale (Berlín), AV Festival (Newcastle), Electra (Montreal), de Sonic Hechos XII (Ámsterdam), Great North Museum (Newcastle), Kunsthalle Växjö (Suecia), Dissonanze (Roma), bitforms Gallery (Nueva York), ISEA 2008 (Singapur – Países Bajos), Media Art Institute (Ámsterdam) y Cybersonica (Londres).
Entre los premios recibidos y residencias en las que ha participado se encuentran: Swiss Art Award (2009 y 2010) Sitemapping / Mediaprojects Award-Bundesamt fur Kultur (2005, 2008 y 2011), artists-in-labs Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (2007).

Pe Lang builds poetic and elegant sculptures combining mechanized systems with magnetic and electrical devices. The resulting works are both visually appealing, because of their elegant and minimal kinetic qualities, but also fascinating for their acoustic features. If chance plays an important role in his works, the artist playfully manages to balance between order and chaos by controlling the forces involved in his compositions: the precision of the mechanical devices and the confusion resulted from the collision of the various elements.
