Drifting Voices

Drifting Voices explores the deep connection between the human body and the ocean. This multichannel electroacoustic composition in Ambisonic format features vocal recordings of Portia Lee reading an original poem. Fragmented voices and water sounds are explored at a microscopic level, blurring distinctions between body and ocean to explore the chemical similarity between the two. As the piece progresses, the human voice dissolves into intricate textures, merging seamlessly with oceanic sound.
