Vive y trabaja en Estrasburgo. Estudió fotografía en la Universidad de Bellas Artes de Mulhouse antes de especializarse en video en la Escuela Nacional de Artes Decorativas en Estrasburgo. Allí fue alumna del artísta español Francisco Ruiz de Infante. Hasta el 2013 ha participado con sus vídeos en exhibiciones y festivales internacionales de cine. Entre ellos el 9 Festival de cortos Directors Lounge en Berlín, el 5 festivas de video arte en Camagüey, Cuba; El Festival del Video Arte Ahora y Después de Moscú, el Noveno Festival de Arte Digital Foland en Portugal, el Festival de Cine de Migrantes en Eslovenia, la Feria del Arte Video lounge en Alemania, El Festival del Video Arte MIDEN en Grecia, etc. Siendo una artista sorda, Céline Trouillet está interesada en la exploración del problema de la comunicación y el concepto del “otro” en la sociedad contemporánea. A pesar de su discapacidad estudió la música en el conservatorio desde que tenía 7 años. Sus retratos cantando están inspirando por los videoclips y el karaoke durante su juventud. Las películas de Céline Trouillet están incluidas en varias colecciones incluyendo el FRAC ( El fondo de Arte Contemporánea de La Región Alsace) y el Ministerio de la Colleccion de La Jovendad en Liestal.

Born in Colmar, France in 1975, video artist Céline Trouillet currently lives in Strasbourg. She studied photography at the School of Fine Arts in Mulhouse before specialising in video at the National School of Decorative Arts in Strasbourg where her tutor was the Spanish artist Francisco Ruiz de Infante. She regularly presents her films in exhibitions and at international film and video festivals including, in 2013, the 9th Berlin International Festival Directors Lounge, the 5th Camagüey Festival of Video Art in Cuba, the Moscow Now & After Video Art Festival, the 9th FONLAD Digital Art Festival in Portugal, the Migrant Film Festival in Slovenia, the CAR Videolounge Art Fair in Germany, the MIDEN Video Art Festival in Greece, the Brigade des Images Festival in Paris, the WNDX Festival of Moving Image in Canada, the 5th Festival in Marseille, the 17th International Video Festival VIDEOMEDEJA in Serbia, etc. As a deaf artist, Céline Trouillet is particularly interested in exploring the problem of communication and the question of “the Other” in contemporary society. Despite her handicap, she studied music at a conservatory from the age of 7. Her singing portraits are partly inspired by the influx of music video clips and karaoke during her youth. Céline Trouillet’s films are included in various collections including the FRAC (Alsace Regional Contemporary Art Fund) and the Ministry of Youth collection in Liestal (Switzerland). A compilation of her “SONG” series of videos will be distributed by Ecart Productions in 2014.
