Voces en el mar polar

Es una obra creada con las grabaciones de vocalizaciones de la foca cangrejera (Lobodon carcinophaga), realizadas por el PALAOA Observatory en la estación Neumayer del Antártico alemán. Este trabajo es parte del proyecto Polar Sounds, una colaboración entre Cities and Memories, el Instituto Helmholtz para la Biodiversidad Marina Funcional (HIFMB) y el Instituto Alfred Wegener, Centro Helmholtz para la Investigación Polar y Marina (AWI). El proyecto invita a re-imaginar algunos de los sonidos poco escuchados de las regiones del Ártico y la Antártida, reflexionando sobre el cambio climático y la evolución de los paisajes marinos polares bajo perspectivas alternativas de los datos científicos.

It is a work created from recordings of crabeater seal (Lobodon carcinophaga) vocalisations made by the PALAOA Observatory at the Neumayer Station in the German Antarctic.This work is part of the Polar Sounds project, a collaboration between Cities and Memories, the Helmholtz Institute for Functional Marine Biodiversity (HIFMB) and the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI).The project invites you to re-imagine some of the little-heard sounds of the Arctic and Antarctic regions, reflecting on climate change and the evolution of polar seascapes under alternative perspectives of scientific data.
