Niall Quinn y Oliver Wilshen – Signal to noise (Reino Unido)
El colectivo Signal-to-Noise formado por Oliver Wilshen y Niall Quinn, explora la materialidad de artefactos en desuso. Su trabajo se caracteriza por una interacción directa y juguetona. Crean instrumentos inusuales que preguntan la naturaleza y significado de la representación, la originalidad y la memoria.
En 2013, reciben el primer premio por el “Interface” Interactive Art Competition from the Research Centre for Science and Technology of the Arts (CITAR) en Porto, Portugal. Ambos han exhibido a nivel nacional e internacional, destacando The National Art Center en Tokyo, EPCOR Centre for the Performing Arts en Calgary, Canada, y The Victoria & Albert Museum, en Londres.
Tienen trabajos publicados en ‘A Touch of Code: Interactive Installation and Experiences’ (2011 Gestalten) y más recientemente en ‘The Creators Project’ (2013 Intel/Vice).

The collective Signal-to-Noise (Oliver Wilshen and Niall Quinn) explore the materiality of dead media artefacts. Their work is manifested through direct and playful interaction. The duo create unconventional instruments that question the nature and meaning of performance, originality and memory.
In 2013, they were awarded first prize for the “Interfaces” Interactive Art Competition from the Research Centre for Science and Technology of the Arts (CITAR) in Porto, Portugal.
