Atelier-Sonoro-y-Audiovisual

Organizadora: Alicia Hierro, residente, (MAS, Sorbonne Paris 1).

IN-SONORA in the School of Spain in Paris

On June 23, 2015, at the conference “Visual Creation and Sound Arts”, coordinated by Alicia Hierro and the College of Spain in Paris, we presented IN-SONORA and the next edition of the Muestra Internacional de Arte Sonoro e Interactivo. The presentation was preceeded by the preview “premiere” of the audiovisual project developed by Pablo Simancas and Irene Gil, using the past edition of IN-SONORA 8 as a starting point to address the idea of combining the mediums of sound and image. A very interesting document that we hope to present to our audiences at the end of the summer.

Visual Creation and Sound Arts

Cultural programmers and creators will debate over the new formats and the new practices explored by artists, even between visual art and music. It is a premiere feature of the documentary “Cada vez más a ninguna parte”, a film-essay that uses the festival IN-SONORA as a leitmotiv. With the participation of Maite Camacho (IN-SONORA, Madrid). Organizer: Alicia Hierro, resident, (MAS, Sorbonne Paris 1).

Cronicle of an open-call of sound art

“This process is a work of editing. Our driving force at the beginning, before recording the exhibit, was to cinematographically work an idea into the listening aspect. We recorded the open-call without a script, only with the help of Mats, a sound engineer, and our two cameras, one for each team member. We improvised the recording process, through the stimuli that the sounds produced. Afterward, in the editing room, we realized the documentary-like value that the images had, but we also saw the artistic value, in terms of sound and image. Then, we attempted to use the editing process as a document through the mode of a cronicle, but also as an sensorial experience through the artistic image and sound posibilities of the material that we recorded.”

Pablo Simancas and Irene Gil on the purpose of the audiovisual “Cada vez más a ninguna parte”.
